Paint Correction & Car Polishing

What is Paint Correction?

At Proficient Details, we specialise in professional paint correction and polishing services that bring your vehicle’s paintwork back to life. Whether your car is suffering from swirl marks, light scratches, oxidation, or dull paint, our mobile service delivers showroom-quality results—right at your doorstep.

Paint correction is a meticulous process that removes imperfections from your car’s clear coat. These imperfections include:

  • Swirl marks

  • Light scratches

  • Oxidation

  • Water spots

  • Holograms or buffer trails

  • Faded or dull paint

Using high-quality compounds, polishing machines, and years of expertise, we carefully level out the clear coat to eliminate these defects and reveal a deep, glossy finish underneath.

Our Types of Paint Corrections

We offer three stages of paint correction depending on your vehicle’s condition and your desired result:

Stage 1 – Enhancement Polish:

A single-stage machine polish designed to enhance gloss and remove light swirl marks.

  • Ideal for newer vehicles or those in good condition

  • Restores shine and clarity with minimal correction

  • A great base before applying wax or ceramic coating

Stage 2 – Minor Correction:

This stage removes around 60–80% of visible defects.

  • Dual-stage polishing: compounding + refining

  • Targets medium swirl marks, light scratches, and oxidation

  • Recommended for daily drivers with moderate imperfections

Stage 3 – Major Correction:

Our most intensive option, removing 90–95% of paint defects.

  • Multi-step machine polishing

  • Corrects heavy swirl marks, deep scratches, and severe oxidation

  • Ideal for older vehicles, neglected paintwork, or preparing for ceramic coating

How We Correct the paint on your vehicle

Every vehicle is unique, and so is our approach. Here’s how we tackle paint correction and polishing:

1. Thorough Wash & Decontamination

We begin with a pH-neutral wash, followed by a clay bar treatment to remove embedded contaminants from the paint.

2. Paint Inspection & Measurement

We inspect your paint under proper lighting and measure paint thickness to determine the safest and most effective approach.

3. Machine Polishing

Using dual-action polishers, cutting compounds, and finishing polishes, we carry out a multi-stage process to correct paint defects.

4. Final Polish & Paint Protection

We finish with a refining polish and seal your paint with a wax or paint protection product. For long-term protection, we recommend adding our Ceramic Coating service using GTECHNIQ products.
